Position Summary
Sunless Labs & Co & Infinity Sun is seeking a highly motivated,
passionate, and articulate Creative Director to build our creative
team. We are looking for a candidate with experience designing
dynamic, on-brand creative assets, and digital advertising. The
ideal candidate must also maintain a strong understanding of design
for print and emerging media formats. Designers with experience and
familiarity in creating motion graphics are highly encouraged to
apply. You must have a strong design aesthetic and typography
skills with a passion for customer experience and brand
storytelling.
The Creative Director is responsible for planning, managing and
delivering strategic global brand style guides from initial
development to final execution and release. The role is also
responsible for creating and developing innovative and refined
creative assets that deliver the entire brand experience.
The ideal candidate must be highly organized and be a strong
creative problem solver. The Creative Director will hire and
oversee other designers and senior directors on larger projects as
needed. The ideal candidate MUST be an organized and creative
thinker and have the ability to prioritize and execute multiple
projects in a fast-paced environment, as well as perform other
duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Design and produce comprehensive, brand-right layouts and graphics
for seasonal and product-driven launches, including advertising and
special projects.
Demonstrates solid understanding of typography, photography,
layout, graphic design and digital design; ensures all assets
adhere to brand guidelines
Manage graphic production tasks and project deliverables, including
managing assets and ensuring clarity of direction and consistent
use of creative across all channels
Including create, format, or update decks based on feedback
throughout the process until final approval
Organize and contribute to the creative process with ideas, swipe,
or visual examples and research competitor analysis (share swipe,
best practices, interesting finds in advertising
placements/markets/new launches)
Shows knowledge of newest design, typography, illustration, fashion
and culture
Execution of assets that meet business objectives
Organization of photo and design assets, as well as coordinate
final assets to be shared across the company or with vendors and
ensure consistency across multiple customer touch points, with
careful consideration for proper digital file types and naming
conventions and compressing files, if necessary, for web
Demonstrate solid grasp of brand aesthetic, usability principles,
and high taste level in design sensibility
MUST be able to independently AND collaboratively navigate the
creative process, negotiating successfully with other teams while
being communicative, proactive, resourceful, professional, and
flexible
Maintains collaborative partnerships with supporting teams,
including Brand Management, Marketing, Program Management, Product
Dev/Packaging, Copy and Retouching
Meet all deadlines under pressure and ambiguity with the highest
quality of standards
Positively receives critiques from peers and executives and
reflects changes in work throughout the revision process
Thinks about how a customer shops in current climate; focuses on
solutions, and aware of the importance of a strong digital
presence. Understands how creative can evolve or migrate from one
format to different format and how the usability, efficiency and
return can be impacted by doing so: ultimately aiding in customer
conversion, sales, overall market impact and other business
objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree of BFA. Graphic Design (or related:
Communications Design, or UX/UI) degree preferred
5+ years of design experience in digital design focused on one or
more of the following: E-Commerce web design, UX/UI, paid social,
emails, and/or responsive design for web (mobile and desktop).
Experience with Retail/e-Commerce, Fashion, and Beauty
encouraged.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
Can articulate creative ideas, either verbally, by example, or
sketches.
Strong problem-solving skills with focus on developing and
recommending solutions quickly and in a calm and clear manner
Must be able to work autonomously and remain flexible to changing
priorities
Knowledge of Adobe's Creative Suite; with a comfortable and
proficient knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop.
XD, AfterEffects, Adobe premiere, Illustrator, Bridge, and
remainder of Suite is highly encouraged.
Must possess excellent typography and design skills
Strong understanding of web standards, grid system and responsive
design.
Self-motivated, team-oriented, and have a collaborative approach to
creative development
Time management, organization skills, file management and excellent
attention to detail and consistency
Ability to work in a very fast paced environment and meet very
tight deadlines
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and
PowerPoint
Maintain a positive and open attitude while making multiple rounds
of revisions to projects
The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated and agile
