Job DescriptionThe Principal Engineer I, reporting to the
Engineering Manager, will work with backend engineering teams to
develop and execute backend services meeting customer expectations
and specifications as discussed and detailed in Epics, Features,
and Stories (SAFe Agile Process). As a Principal Engineer I, you
will be directly developing the services and will partner with
other engineers and experts in the broader organization and various
levels such as Product Leadership, Architects, Product Managers,
Data Scientists and Engineering to build products used to improve
the health outcomes of millions of people. In this role, you are
considered a subject matter expert (SME) in software engineering
best practices for the full software development life cycle, which
includes coding standards, code reviews, source control,
validation, and support.In addition, you are expected to be either
experienced or conversant in emerging ideas in application
development both on the user interface and middle tier
technologies. While not necessarily deep in all these technologies,
you should understand them sufficiently to guide the organization
in understanding and possibly adopting them if appropriate.Work
breakdown structure for this role:--- In this role, you will be
spending 60% of time heads down coding with NodeJS and related
backend technologies.--- You will be mentoring/guiding team members
20% of time.--- You will be partnering with others in the following
disciplines: Front end developers, Architects, Product SME and

RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:Minimum:
115,000Maximum: 230,000Please keep in mind that this range
represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within
which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into
account a wide range of factors, including location.Required
Qualifications--- 12+ years of professional IT experience--- 10+
years of software development and requirement analysis and design
experience--- 5+ years of Experience in Node.js, frameworks (e.g.
Express), and JavaScript--- 5+ years of Experience in server-side
templating languages, front-end technologies--- 5+ years of
Experience in asynchronous programming using NodeJS/Javascript---
5+ years of Experience with common API formats (e.g. JSON, XML,
Websockets)--- 3+ years of experience with designing client and
server-side architecture--- 3+ years of Experience in developing
SQl/noSql database schemas and ORMs that both support business
processes and promote scalability--- 3+ years of experience in
Redis integration with NodeJSPreferred Qualifications--- Knowledge
of NoSQL database like Cassandra and integration with NodeJS
application is a plus--- Comfortable around both front-end and
back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party
libraries--- Knowledge of strong encryption methodologies, and
common authentication patterns--- Understanding accessibility and
security compliance (FIPS)--- Familiarity with CI/CD - git,
Jenkins--- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes--- Understand code
versioning tools--- Familiar with Agile Methodologies like
SAFeEducationBachelor's degree from an accredited college or
