Basic Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience
Clearance Requirements:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer. - This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. - General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of cyber security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), DIACAP, STIGs and other government security specifications and guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security technology and trends
  • Regular contact with senior levels of security work groups
  • Ability to lead security work groups
  • Works under limited direction
  • Serve as the Technical Lead for ESS Suite of products
  • Ability to communicate effectively with government and contract leadership, while conveying highly technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies, practices, and requirements
  • Familiar with DISA OPORD 16-0080 for Endpoint Security (effective January 9, 2017) and FRAGO 6 (effective September 30, 2021).
  • Proficient understanding of cyber security specifications such as Risk Management Framework (RMF), ACAS, STIGs and other government security specifications and guidelines
  • Install and maintain ESS components on the ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) server and the managed servers and workstations, monitoring the security health of workstations and servers, updating detection signatures and/or access control lists based on vendor releases and/or intelligence reporting; maintaining cyber situational awareness by participating in working groups and attending meetings when ESS representation is required, performing log analysis and event correlation to identify anomalous traffic. Analyzes, interprets and recommends solutions for system shortfalls, discrepancies or improvements in technologies and security requirement, and provides official written recommendation on engineering solutions and complex trouble resolutions.
  • Maintain ENS Firewall Rule Sets. Create and implement ENS firewall rule sets for each system type including servers, domain controllers, Structured Query Language (SQL) servers, workstations, and mobile platforms.
  • Provide configuration management summary of changes to maintain and validate configuration management of each system baseline and a ESS Baseline Report to track system status, module deployments, and event trends.
  • Experience identifying and applying all applicable security requirements (STIGS, orders and directives)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio) in preparing analytical reports, information papers, and briefings for executive level recipients.
  • Must possess an Active Secret Clearance

    Combined Salary RangeUSD $129,500.00 - USD $143,700.00 /Yr.
