Clearance Status: Not Required As a Mechanical Repair Technician I,
you will be responsible for the teardown, inspection, test and
rebuild of regulators and aspirators, as well as hydrostatic
testing of cylinders and charging reservoir assemblies with proper
gasses. What you will do: Responsible for the overhaul/repair of
regulators used on evacuation slides. Responsible for
overhaul/repair of aspirators used on evacuation slides.
Responsible for the hydrostatic testing of cylinders
(re-qualification). Responsible for the charging of reservoir
assemblies. Knowledge of cylinder types and specifications.
Completes required fits and clearances and documentation.
Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires HS diploma (or
equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical
education in related discipline Qualifications We Prefer: Ability
to wear and utilize respiratory protection Basic communication and
computer skills Ability to make accurate measurements and remain
within tolerances Ability to read and understand manuals,
procedures, diagrams and blueprints Ability to work as part of a
team Ability to complete all training to obtain Valve Shop
Certifications Strong attention to detail and organized Experience
in working with a wide variety of cylinders. Working Conditions –
Physical Requirements and Environment: Approximately 95% of time
standing Ability to input retrieves access and send information via
computer. Ability to bend, stoops, and stand for inspections of
parts. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance. Some
exposure to vapors from solvents and adhesives. Ability to wear
