Summary of Position:
The Manager of Human Resources will provide focused support in all areas of human resources for SFE's teams and multiple business units including Operations, C&N Operations, Sales, Finance and Culinary. This will include significant focus on organization development & design, management/leadership development as well as staffing on-boarding. This individual will support the senior leaders in each of these areas.

Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's human resource function and performance in partnership with the CPO.
Provide input and execute company's plans and programs as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.
Develop and maintain, shifting as needed, benefit strategies for the organization to provide value added and impactful employee benefits.
Oversee the management and audits in payroll and benefits. Be prepared to lead strategic projects and answer to and put action plans in place for any audit findings.
Strategically plan and implement new business transition plans related to people, support other departments in their specific transition plans.
Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans and lead the HR team to successful integration.
Work closely with Recruiting to enhance staffing strategies and implement plans and programs to identify talent within the business for positions of responsibility, promotions, transfers, lateral moves, and demotions.
Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and to provide programs which utilize an associate and company partnership to incite retention.
Develop and maintain human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps including (but not limited to) organizational talent planning and quarterly reviews.
Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the employees in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues. Be a trusted resources and value partner.
Develop and maintain appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the business. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be employee relations, affirmative action, sexual harassment, associate complaints, external education and career development.
Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the business. In particular, manage the human resource information systems database and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the business.
Coordinate the activities, programs and strategic HR plans with District level HR team members.
- Oversee and partner with legal and labor relations team regarding all union negotiation and interaction.
Maintain knowledge of HR policies, programs, laws and issues. Understand the differences of state policies and programs and coordinate the integration of all such programs.
Ability to understand union contracts and direct on-site teams how to manage staff withing the parameters.
Manage other areas such as relocation, payroll, compensation, recruiting, and training.
Assist CPO in managing the budget and other financial measures of the Human Resources Department.
Continue improving the programs, policies, practices, and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization.
Evaluate and report on the human resource division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individuals.
Occasionally, the Manager of Human Resources will be asked and expected to perform various, miscellaneous, and non-standard duties as required. Such duties are diversified in nature and may be changed from time to time to suit the needs of the company.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Abilities:
- 8 - 10 years of progressive HR generalist experience.
- BA/BS in Human Resources or another related subject.
- PHR/SPHR and Master's degree highly preferred.
- A strong team player for the HR Leadership team is essential. A strong HR Leader for the partnering with business units and functions is also essential.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business strategies/needs and translate those into HR needs, strategies, programs, processes and tools.
- Experience/ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial, high growth, high demand environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels and all types of organizations. Focus on resolving issues/creating solutions that move the organization's business strategy forward and maximize the opportunity for employees' successful contributions.
- Demonstrated ability to form big picture strategy to smallest detail for operational plan, execution and timeline.
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, achieve objectives and make a difference.
- Demonstrated ability to "work in the grey zone" and find creative solutions that meet competing needs of multiple constituents.
- Demonstrated ability to coach to the "right decision" in even the most difficult circumstances.
- Strong creative and problem-solving abilities, thinking through and understanding all consequences and implications before putting recommendations forward. Resilient.
- Ability to work through others to accomplish goals by influencing, understanding different perspectives/approaches and communicating effectively

- Demonstrated flexibility to lead, follow, and be a team member as needed and all at the same time.

- Demonstrated ability to manage programs, budgets, calendars, and timelines effectively.

- Ability to travel as needed and up to 30% of the time.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Be able to work in a sitting position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
Typically, normal office environment but frequent visits to the industrial kitchen environment.
