Description -As a condition of employment, employees must be able to comply with APLL's mandatory vaccination policy as of January 1st, 2022, with exception for medical or religious accommodations. CLS hourly floor operators are exempt from this mandate until further guidance is received from OSHA.Job PurposeReporting directly to the Sr. Director, Risk Management, the Director, Global Security, will manage all Business Protection and Security functions worldwide. This position will create a consolidated global function by assessing any current gaps, proposing, expanding, developing, and then implementing solutions. The Director, Global Security -will develop and expand the strategy and roadmaps for all aspects of the company's security needs and will lead and drive the operational tradeoff decisions required to continually re-calibrate Global Security , focusing on the highest priorities. Roles & Responsibilities Develop and manage security domains of emergency planning, continuity planning, physical security, asset protection, travel security, executive security, and meeting/events security, designed to mitigate security threats.Identify, develop, implement, and maintain cost-effective security processes and asset protection measures globally to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas.Develop, implement and manage global tools such as integrated security systems, incident reporting systems, event escalation protocols, and create a Security Operations Center to manage business continuity, emergency response and mass notification tools. Recommend, implement and manage 3rd party security solutions. Formulate reports to track investigations, physical losses, or violations of regulations, policies, and procedures related to security.Draft, communicate, and develop reports and advisories on security risks to associates and enterprise operations and communicating to senior management.Apply risk-based security solutions to the APLL security threat environment, both man-made (e.g. criminal, terror, accidental) and natural (e.g. weather, seismic, infectious disease). Manage the regional Security management staff globally, working with local operations and functional teams on policy execution.Apply innovation to all aspects of security management to enhance tactical and strategic threat intelligence and optimize operational efficiency.Collaborate with key internal partners on enterprise-wide risk mitigation programs. Coordinate site security risk assessments and overseeing travel security and security risk management programs, developing and documenting standards of measurement of the efficiency and effectiveness of these programs.Prepare for and assess unforeseen threat developments and recommend changes in security direction and approach. Direct and supervise security-related investigations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies.Establish global guidelines on travel security risks, and provide relevant local security information and real-time response to high-risk travel situations or events. Provide and develop organizational learnings, including enterprise-wide physical security and awareness trainingManage internally and externally contracted resources employed in the process of security management.Lead the development of Global Security's crisis management plans, facilitating related training and exercises (e.g. tabletop simulations), and maintaining appropriate records.Provide intelligence support for executive protection and major event security programs and coordinate development and maintenance of database to track and analyze inappropriate communications that pose a threat to executives, employees, or other individuals associated with the organization.Research, identify, track, and monitor emerging security threats, geopolitical issues and trends and keep abreast of changing geopolitical events, which could impact corporate stability and operations. Assess unforeseen threat developments and recommend changes in security direction and approach.Communicate security threats and geopolitical issues and recommend applicable changes in security direction and approach.Recommend changes in corporate policies and procedures to counter developing security threats to the enterprise. -Qualifications -QualificationBachelor's degree required, preferably in Security, Criminal Justice or equivalent. Possess relevant professional qualifications.RequirementsAt least 10 years' experience in a senior leadership security role with global responsibility. Proven international security experience with operational knowledge of country law enforcement and political environments as they relate to security, including exposure to China, South and Southeast Asia, Middle East, Europe, Latin America, and US. In-depth knowledge of industry best practice security operations, investigations, and incident management. Conversant in all security industry certification programs, e.g. -Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA). Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to develop tailored security solutions for a global enterprise based on unique business imperatives, markets, geographies, and challenges. Proven experience in budget management, supplier management and talent development. Influencer and collaborator who can gain alignment with company internal functions to execute cross functional initiatives. Results oriented leader with hands-on experience establishing meaningful metrics to measure effectiveness and flag opportunities. Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills at an executive management level. Leader with a successful track record managing and motivating global security teams.
