If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range. The role may also be eligible for either short-term or long-term incentive plans based on business and/or position-specific results. Newly hired full-time associates receive a minimum of 18 days paid time off each full calendar year, pro-rated quarterly based on hire date. Newly hired full-time associates at higher job levels may receive additional paid time off. You will also receive 8 hours of Lifetime paid time off and 8 hours of Unity Day paid time off. The range for this role is listed below.In Washington, the salary range for AVP, Product Management - E&S/Specialty is $144,000 to $261,000.Job Description SummaryInsurance policy forms matter, the coverage matters so ensuring accuracy through technology and process is essential! The Excess & Surplus/Specialty (E&S/S) team handles some of the most unique and interesting insurance products at Nationwide.

As the AVP of Product Management, you'll oversee associates, functions and activities that drive efficient administration of the company's filings, form development, and underwriting regulatory issues. We'll count on you to build a team capable of developing and implementing procedures necessary to provide these services to the business units across E&S/Specialty. Job Description Key Responsibilities: -

  • Provides leadership and vision of product design and management across E&S/Specialty including Underwriting Units, Legal, Actuarial and Operations. Responsible for establishing product management strategy, structure and supporting processes, and ensuring appropriate KPIs and execution.
  • Ensures appropriate procedures are developed, implemented, and maintained; underwriting systems have filings accurately deployed. Monitors for efficient outcomes and compliance.
  • Ensures the organization is in compliance with state insurance regulations/law by analyzing all state insurance department bulletins and determining what action, if any, is needed to bring policies into compliance; implements any changes in filing procedures or form development resulting from bulletins, regulatory changes, etc. -
  • Oversees the leadership of associates; ensures hiring, development and performance management of specialized talent required to execute on world class underwriting company strategy. -
  • Provides product development and regulatory guidance to Underwriting leadership across E&S/Specialty.
  • Collaborate with internal functional teams (P&C Compliance, Finance, etc.) for market conduct exams and statutory inquiries.May perform other responsibilities as assigned.Reporting Relationships: Reports to SVP.Typical Skills and Experiences: -Education: - Undergraduate degree in business management or related field. License/Certification/Designation: Technical insurance designation, such as CPCU, preferred.Experience: Typically, ten years of experience in the property/casualty industry with strong knowledge of underwriting processes and procedures. Five years supervisory/managerial experience involving product development, rate/rules/form filing development and knowledge management practices.Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: - Proven knowledge of excess and surplus and specialty lines of insurance as well as standard admitted lines. Thorough knowledge of insurance filing practices, understanding of admitted versus non-admitted regulatory issues, underwriting principles, practices, and coverage. Knowledge of accounting and actuarial procedures. -Leads with a strategic mindset, organizational and interpersonal savvy, strong written and verbal communication skills, along with an ability to negotiate and influence others, and drive vision and purpose. Exercises independent judgement and effectively makes sound business decisions. Creatively resolves unique and challenging business problems. Expertly collaborates with business units across the E&S/Specialty value chain as well as partners across Nationwide. Builds effective teams and develops talent. Ability to plan and establish priorities that strategically align with organization objectives.
