Position will develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department. Developing and executing strategies that achieve revenue, operating profit, compliance and quality.This position has direct reports.Essential FunctionsOperationsResponsible for activities and operations in the accounts payable function for the organization.Analyzes invoices and expense reports for accuracy and eligibility for payment.Ensures timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintains accurate financial records and control reports.Prepares accounts payable register and related reports in a timely mannerReviews purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed.Maintains and reconciles accounts payable ledger.Responds to vendor inquiries and resolves any discrepancies in billings and payments.Prepares and processes payments for vendor invoices and other financial obligations in accordance with internal accounting policies by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements;Ensures proper coding of invoices to the appropriate expense or balance sheet accountOversees all account and expense discrepancies from investigating to resolutionFollows internal accounting controls to maintains financial securityFiles accounting documents and preserves financial historical records according to retention and destruction policiesSupervisoryResponsibilities IncludeCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company cultural values and performance principles, company policies and applicable laws.Actively participating in the interviewing and hiring processes and ensuring successful functional onboarding of new employeesPlanning, assigning and directing work for direct reportsSetting reasonable stretch performance goals, providing constructive, balanced, regular performance feedback, and conducting annual performance appraisalsRecognizing and rewarding performance excellenceApproving timesheets and processing time off requests as part of preparing for payroll for direct reportsCommunicating and enforcing company policies and programsApplying corrective action, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely fashion, involving and collaborating with leadership and Human Resources as appropriate.RequirementsEducation/Experience/Knowledge/UnderstandingBachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of five years previous experience and two years of supervisor experience.Strong experience working with multiple projects.Experience working with Sage Intaact.Interested in hearing more?
