Specializing in high-acuity post-acute care, our services include tracheostomy and ventilator care, dialysis, complex wound care and rehabilitation. As the Director of Nursing (RN) and under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director of Nursing (RN) is responsible for administrative oversight of clinical care operations in line with facility strategic mission and vision. As a member of the Executive Team the Director of Nursing (DON) works closely with operational leaders and managers to ensure excellence in clinical care and regulatory compliance. The DON supports the development and implementation of tools and training curriculum, and implements policies and procedures to drive forward a culture of compassionate and caring staff the facility for all individuals working for and/or associated with Plaza Healthcare to ensure that quality and comprehensive service is being delivered on all levels. Work with and provide support and oversight to clinical service administration positions within the facility: Infection Preventionist, Director of Nursing personnel, Nurse Managers, MDS, Director of Respiratory Therapy, Clinical Educator/Staff Development, CNA Service Coordinator, and etc.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the nursing care facilities.
Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Maintain a reference library of written nursing material that will assist the nursing service
department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the resident and as required by State law.
Develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to Verify the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator, as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department.
Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing services department.
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies as necessary or as may be directed.
Assist the Quality Assessment & Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct actual or potential quality deficiencies.
Assist the Social Service Director/Designee in developing, implementing and periodically updating the written procedures for the discharge planning as necessary.
Perform administrative duties such as completing forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary.
Monitor the facility's quality indicators, quality measures and survey reports. Assist in developing plans of action to correct potential or identified areas of concern.
Assist in calculating the number of direct nursing care personnel on duty each shift. Report such information to the Administrator or his/her designee to Verify that accurate staffing information is posted.
Maintain sufficient nursing staff to meet resident needs and in accordance with State staffing guidelines.
Work as a member of a team to establish and maintain a high level of care and respect for, and communication with residents and families.
Work in a consistently professional manner at all times, which includes, but is not limited to, treating all residents, families, staff, guests, and volunteers with dignity and respect.
Implement emergency procedures as necessary.
Perform other duties as directed. Requirements EDUCATION: B.S. in Nursing (Registered Nurse)
Master's Degree in Nursing or a related field is preferred EXPERIENCE: Minimum two years direct care experience with leadership experience in a long term care facility. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona.
Must be certified in BLS
Must maintain current licensure
