This position prioritizes patient safety, education, and communication to ensure transparency and peace of mind. -Under the direction of a Radiologist, this position performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. -Performs the following: -

• Reviews patient identification, orders, and history to ensure correct patient, procedure, imaging site, and protocols for radiologist as needed. -
• Transports patients to and from the exam room and assists them into position using safe patient handling techniques and equipment. -
• Performs Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient's safety and comfort. -
• Administers contrast materials as required and initiate emergency response to contrast reaction as needed. -
• Obtains and evaluates images for technical quality assurance factors including image laterality marking and annotation as required by IR procedure protocols. -
• Utilizes RIS, PACS and other, ancillary image management systems as needed. -
• Assists in coordination of daily workflow for the department's activities -
• Maintains equipment in efficient operating order including documenting quality control and contacting for service repairs or maintenance as needed -Education: -
  • Graduate from an interventional radiology technologist education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). -
    • Bachelor's Degree, at least two years of experience in radiology and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART). -
    • MUST possess Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) that is approved by the American Heart Association and reads BLS Healthcare Provider Course in the subjects listed -
    • MUST possess a Certificate of Vascular-Interventional Radiology (VIR) or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology (CVIR). -Licenses and Certifications: -
      • Valid and current AZ State Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license Required -
        • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Valid and current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Required -
