    About this Role:

    Type: Full Time
    Compensation: $85,000 - $112,000 DOE annual salary + 10% STI - -
    Location: Remote. Occasional travel required. Primary location is 9201 E. Mountain View, Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85258. - -
    Hours: Must be flexible. Will involve days, occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends based on business needs. Work life balance is highly promoted in order to be sensitive of the work demands at times. -

    Position Summary:

    Matrix Medical Network is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager who will be a champion for our employees' safety throughout our national presence. - This role is responsible for the protection of our 3000 remote employees, and the security of Matrix facilities. - This includes safety and security concerns of our field clinicians, along with environmental and OSHA compliance at our two facilities. - To be successful, the Environmental Health and Safety Manager will need to engage various levels of leadership, and work directly with individual contributors which includes a primarily remote workforce and field-based clinicians. The ideal candidate will have a successful record of accomplishment in health and safety. -Protecting our employees will require investigating, escalating, and triaging employee health and safety incidents. This role is expected to develop and implement initiatives, in partnership with other departments, to reduce the number of safety incidents.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Promote a culture of employee safety at Matrix that complies with industry best practices, and meets regulatory requirements for employee health and safety
    • Develop Safety Awareness training for Matrix remote clinicians (updated annually)
    • Investigate security incident alerts, and escalate accordingly (this may include occasional after-hours safety alerts)
    • In partnership with property management, oversee the Physical Security at Matrix, and ensure that our policies are followed
    • Enhance and enforce Matrix's existing Safety and Security Policies
    • Track, analyze, and report on safety incidents, using the Safety Incident Reporting application. Escalate application enhancements as appropriate
    • Measure effectiveness of our safety programs, with outcomes-based reporting. Promote safety improvements, as needed
    • Escalate emergency safety incidents and following established communication protocols
    • Contact local law enforcement and or other agencies applicable to obtain additional event details
    • Develop and deliver presentations for monthly Safety Council meetings
    • Manage the mobile field-worker safety application, and investigate "SOS calls"
    • Monitor national weather conditions and support leadership by communicating severe weather forecasts, road conditions, and any information that could affect business operations
    • Track major news outlets for significant regional safety events - such as civil unrest or weather-related emergencies, and determine safety level for employees in that vicinity
    • Facilitate the ordering of safety equipment for clinicians in the field
    • Assist with evidence collection for Worker's Compensation claims of safety incidents
    • Point of contact with our insurance carriers and related third-parties promote our culture of safety. This includes Workers Compensation vendors and agencies
    • Continually review new safety technologies that could improve the safety and security of the Matrix family
    • Collaborates with the department leader on budget proposals for the operation of the Health, Safety and Security program, and training
    • Work with Legal Department to address inquiries from OSHA or other federal or state safety agencies, or environmental regulators
    • Enforce Hazardous Materials Communication Policy for safe disposal of chemicals
    • Assist department leader in developing training for executives on the CIRT (Critical Incident Response Team), preparing for response to emergency safety incidents
    • Use safety incident reports to develop "Lone Worker Safety Training" modules for remote clinicians
    • Manage safety vendors for quotes, invoices, and service inquiries.
    • Attend weekly national-clinician-calls to promote safety initiatives, and address employee safety concerns
    • Collaborate with onsite facilities leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines and reporting; remediate any deficiencies
    • Collaborate with all department leaders to ensure adherence with HIPPA clean desk policy; remediate any deficiencies
    • Provide guidance and expertise to help Facilities Manager prepare for emergencies (i.e., fire safety, active shooter preparedness, etc.)
    • Perform other duties as assigned

      Qualifications
      Must Haves: -

      Experience Requirements:


      • Bachelor's Degree in safety related field, or equivalent professional experience
      • At least 3 years of experience Environmental Health and Safety
      • At least 3 years of experience OSHA Compliance
      • At least 1 years of experience Workers Compensation

        -Required Skills and Abilities:

        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, with the ability to build executive-level PowerPoint presentations and write clear policies for personnel
        • Ability to manage a crisis situation affecting personnel health, safety, and security
        • Ability to inspire confidence with professional experience and personal integrity
        • Proven investigation skills, which include the ability to conduct employee questioning, and interact with police departments, or other public officials
        • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
        • Must be self-starter, with the ability to manage projects independently

          Travel requirements:


          • Position is remote, however, there may be a rare need to travel (- 5% of the time)
          • Must be able to travel by public transportation, and airplanes
          • Must be able to drive a rental vehicle (i.e., clean license)

            Work Conditions:
            This position will be in your work-at-home setting, and requires ability to support across multiple U.S. time zones during core business hours. The ability to manage your time effectively, while working remotely, is a pre-requisite. -

            • This position requires a quiet / private home-office space
            • This position requires reliable Internet broadband connection (minimum 200 Mbps)
            • Reliable cellular/phone service at employee's home office, is also required
