Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg Tele Ortho Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: LEVEL I TRAUMA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Tele experience is required for this position due to potential floating to other Med-Surg Tele units. Description: Candidates must pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance. Two attempts are allowed; failure on both will result in a waiting period. All RNs are expected to complete skills evaluations for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Competence in maintaining sterile fields is essential and nurses demonstrating a lack of this skill may not be considered a good fit. In addition to the core skills, candidates will complete educational sessions on lifts, restraints, and wound care. The unit consists of a 30-bed capacity. Patient ratios are 1:4-5. The EMR system in use is Cerner. Charge nurses do not take patients. Nurse aides are present for support during shifts. Weekend and holiday work is expected as part of the standard rotation. The unit sees a diverse range of cases including transplants and trauma. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the assignment. This position requires a focus on trauma, surgical, and orthopedic patient care in an acute setting.
