Job Description Payson Pet Care is a fast-paced, AAHA accredited
hospital located in the rural mountain community of Payson, AZ
(about 90 miles from Phoenix). For over 24 years, we have been the
leader in high quality medicine, diagnostics and availability. Our
small town is home to about 15,000 full-time residents and several
varieties of wildlife. Our community is also a popular
tourist/camping destination thanks to our beautiful mountains,
fresh air, mild temperatures, abundance of hiking trails, lakes,
rivers and any other outdoor recreation you can think of! Job
description: We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our
family and our small mountain community. With the nearest emergency
hospital over an hour away, our rural area has many needs and we
are open to tailoring this position to your strengths. Ideally, we
are looking for someone who is confident with Urgent Care type
medicine, but GP is absolutely welcomed! Our main priorities are: -
Providing excellent client services and education - Providing high
quality medicine - Fostering an environment of positivity, teamwork
and collaboration - Work, life and family balance for the whole
team (NO afterhours! NO holidays!) About our hospital: - We are the
only AAHA accredited hospital within a 90-mile radius. -
Full-service hospital equipped for wellness, sick pets and surgery.
- Dedicated, trained staff with a 2:1 tech to doctor ratio (3:1 if
working solo) - In house diagnostics - We offer laser therapy,
ultrasound, cautery, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. - New
digital radiology equipment for both dental and diagnostic. -
SPACE! We have a 5,000 square foot hospital with 4 exam rooms, a
compassion room, two isolation rooms, full lab, double surgery
suite and updated lobby (no boarding or grooming). Qualifications:
- Must have DVM or VMD from an AVMA accredited institution -
License to practice veterinary medicine in AZ or able to attain a
license and in good standing - DEA licensure is preferred - Must
have a passion for continued learning and improvement, excellent
communication skills and a proactive approach. - Take pride in
offering unmatched compassionate care, ensuring our communication
with our clients is clear and understood. - Support all other
medical personnel, including veterinary technicians and assistants,
and help will guide as a mentor to develop the clinical staff. -
Require confidence and proficiency in dentistry, soft tissue
surgery, and internal medicine. - Open to recent graduates and
