This contract position offers the opportunity to apply specialized nursing skills in a fast-paced environment managing complex PCU patients, including those post-open heart surgery and with advanced cardiac conditions. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Current, active Arizona RN license in good standing Minimum 1 year of progressive PCU experience Proficient in EKG interpretation and IV cardiac medication administration Experience with advanced nursing care including peritoneal dialysis, chronic ventilator management, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, and arterial/venous sheath care ACLS and BLS certifications required; dysrhythmia exam must be passed within two attempts prior to contract signing Compliance with radius and work history restrictions regarding previous employment with CommonSpirit-associated facilities Responsibilities: Provide acute care nursing for cardiovascular and surgical patients using advanced monitoring and life support equipment (Philips Cardiac Monitors, Cerner EMR, Pyxis, Zoll R series, Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, etc.) Manage a patient load of approximately 3-4 patients per nurse with acuity-based staffing Float to ICU and MS/Tele units as needed to support arterial line and sheath pulls Follow strict dress code: navy scrubs and business-appropriate hair color Collaborate with hospitalists and critical care teams to deliver comprehensive cardiac-focused nursing care Schedule: 12-hour shifts, either 7A-7P or 7P-7A 3 shifts per week required, with potential to discuss 4 shifts per week at regular pay rates Benefits & Perks: Experience exposure to a wide range of cardiac conditions including STEMI/NSTEMI, cardiac surgery postop care, alcohol withdrawal, and respiratory support with BiPAP/CPAP Work in a supportive, technology-driven environment equipped with cutting-edge cardiac monitoring and medication management systems This role is a contract opportunity with the possibility to impact care within an advanced critical care line.
