What you will be doing
-Represent hotel by soliciting, responding to and negotiating with
persons requiring catering in timely manner.
-Initiate the preparation of proposals and/or contracts to advise
prospective customers primarily of the hotel meeting space and/or
banquet date, space and rate availability. Develop and quote prices
for same. Attend weekly sales departmental meeting and other
scheduled meetings to support business operations.
-Conduct site inspections with potential customers, meeting space
and banquet facilities, as well as other hotels.
-Manage account details so that all pertinent aspects of
solicitation and closing are complete and documented.
-Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to
prospective clients.
-Develop client menus, write contracts and letters, as well as
organize all other arrangements as they relate to social and
corporate events.
-Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear
direction to staff.
-Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Exert light to medium physical effort in transporting of equipment
and supplies. Endure various physical movements throughout the work
areas. Reaching and remain in stationary position for extended
periods throughout work shift. Satisfactorily communicate with
guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

Qualification Standards
-Education: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or
university; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
-Experience: One to Two years of hotel Catering Sales experience or
employment in a related position or field.
