We set them.Job SummaryAllstate's Unified Customer View - Technology Solutions (UCV-TS) team is responsible for delivering new functionality to support the UCV data platform and providing the business with a 360 view of customer information across all channels. This team will be responsible for processing large datasets and providing insights to our customers. The developer partners with various stakeholders to understand requirements and provide optimal solutions. The Senior Lead Developer will lead a team of developers responsible for building new and support existing services. In this role, we need someone who will act as a lead, coach, mentor, disseminates technical standards, completes code reviews, speaks up during other Leads design reviews, has presentation skills, creates solution designs, among other leadership roles.This person should be team oriented, self-directed, able to handle multi tasks and results oriented. Further they need to have the ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, have a consistent track record of delivery and excellent software engineering skills. Must be able to work across multiple facets of the project and juggle multiple responsibilities at the same time. Key Responsibilities* The Senior Lead Developer will provide technical and team leadership
* Obtain an overall understanding of UCV
* Partner with the Product Owner on requirements and brainstorm implementation options
* Participate in planning session to determine technical designs and estimates
* Experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations,
* Develop, deliver, and support solutions
* Reinforces technical standards, analyzing code segments regularly for accuracy, and acting as a mentor to teammates
* Collaborate effectively with other teams (internal and external) in a very dynamic agile environment
* Learn new tools and implement continuous improvements in support of the Product's strategic vision
* Creating and implementing design plans.
* Team spokesperson, presentations, among other leadership roles
* Grow engineering teams by interviewing, recruiting, and hiring
* Make informed decisions quickly and taking ownership of services and applications at scale
* Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project
* Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and management to collect requirements, identify tasks, provide estimates and meet production deadlines
* Experience with mission critical, 24x7 systems
* Experience implementing and consuming large-scale services
* Support and develop software engineers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities
Preferred Qualifications* Degree in information technology, computer science, or related.
* 5+ years of experience working on Spring / Spring-Boot Frameworks
* 5 + years of experience in designing and building API's using microservices architecture
* 5 + Experience using build technologies e.g. Gradle/Maven, CI/CD pipeline-Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, and deployment of applications onto PCF environment (configuration and set-up)
* Cloud Computing Concepts
* Strong development experience in Java
* Experience in Test Drive Development
* Experience in Application Security e.g. API Gateway, Oauth
* Strong planning and organizational skills
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work in a high-paced team environment
* Tools e.g. Postman, curl, IntelliJ IDEA, SQL Developer, JMeter, Mockito
Desirable Criteria
* Exposure to Oracle, MongoDB, non-sql DB
* Experience working on AWS
* A good grasp of OO and design patterns to avoid redundancy and promote efficiency, legibility, testability and maintainability of code.
* Experience with Extreme Programming (XP)
* Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
* Some understanding of SOAP services
* Experience in Pivotal Cloud Foundry
* Experience in Kafka Platform
Compensation DataSalary range is $$81,900 to $$130,000.
