CL - RF Engineering TechnicianJob ID # 2021-12759Contract Opportunity Location: Scottsdale, AZIndustry: Aerospace & Defense Minimum Education: Associates DegreeMinimum Experience: 7 YearsWhat Youll Do: Provide an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge equipment and systems that support some of our nation's fundamental defense services. Work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.Work with collaborative engineering teams to build and further advance company technologies.Provide a modernized suite of Line of Sight (LOS) and Ground to Air radio communication systems, these systems enable government and commercial communications with high levels of RF performance across a wide frequency range.Work under the direction of a technical lead and be part of a design team, working in a lab environment conducting tests and aiding in the integration of the design at the board, module, and higher levels of product integration. Work member of the overall RF/Systems Engineering team on next generation communication products. Test, analyze, and repair company engineering, network and telecommunications technologies, as well as other technical issues that impact development and/or operations. Plan, calibrate, install and the maintenance of the organizations equipment, components, devices and systems. Develop test specifications and procedures and are sometimes tasked with report preparation and documentation of technical issues.What Youll Need: Demonstrate a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively develop and manage GDMS equipment and processes.Experience working with RF test equipment up to 40 GHz. This includes vector signal network analyzers, communication signal analyzers and a variety of spectrum analyzers as well as high speed oscilloscopes.Experience automating test process though software such as Labview.Ability to develop test procedures, maintain test equipment integrity and generate test reportsConduct tests and aide in the integration of board design, module, and higher levels of product integrationExperience working with large signal characterization of high power amplifiers including Pout, IIP2, IIP3, and P1dB compression point as well as load pulls of discrete devices and circuits. Thermal management of the test environment and experience working with cold plates as well as environmental chambers.Applicant will work under the direction of a technical lead and be part of a design team experienced in modeling and characterizing board level circuit designs, packaging, antennas, and RF front-ends Proficient in Microsoft Office applicationsStrong written and verbal communications skillsAbility to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound electrical engineering designPractice creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performanceDeliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needsSupport and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and proceduresFollow industry and department policies and regulations to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practicesExperience or interest with Software Defined RadiosExperience with legacy analog AM and FM waveforms and related measurementsPractice creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performanceDeliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needsSupport and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and proceduresFollow industry and department policies and regulations to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practicesEducation & Experience: Associates Degree in related discipline or equivalent is required combined with 7 + years of relevant work experience.What to Expect: Applicants selected for employment will be required to pass a preemployment drug screening and background investigation which may include education, criminal and work history verifications.Accepted applicants will have the opportunity to be eligible for benefits, including medical and supplemental insurance and a 401K.
