Job Summary:

In this role, you will support the production and industrialization of the SmartDose device manufacturing processes and equipment. Key Activities required for the role would be the ability to problem solve complex issues, identify areas for improvement, along with associated plans and solutions to execute accordingly, have good use of documentation and statistical techniques and the drive to continuously improve the SmartDose platform. Proficiency in validation techniques and ability to introduce a new process or technology from URS to PQ is an essential aspect of this role. Additional duties may be required or requested depending on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate existing equipment and/or systems, looking for methods to improve performance, efficiency, reliability or accuracy and present recommendations for same.
  • Analyze problem areas with existing processes/equipment and prepare design changes or recommend component replacement as required to resolve problems.
  • Assist in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical design modifications of equipment.
  • Coordinate and/or perform all necessary validations and/or process engineering evaluations as needed for manufacturing processes/equipment.
  • Support process improvements, cost reductions/savings, scrap reductions, quality improvements etc. through the implementation of LEAN concepts.
  • Create/modify work instructions, technical documents, engineering studies, and non-conformance reports as needed to support production.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 Years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably medical device manufacturing.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with medical device regulations.
  • Validation of equipment and processes.
  • Knowledge of manual and automated equipment & processes.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The performance of this position periodically requires exposure to typical manufacturing areas were under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as Safety Glasses, Safety Shoes and hearing protection
  • Must be able to focus for extended periods of time, including time spent in cleanrooms.
