The National Account Manager will have a strong customer-focus, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and grow external relationships.

  • Manage accounts to ensure client satisfaction through high service levels, overall performance, customer service, and process execution

  • Cultivate new and organic growth within your portfolio through proactive communication, premium client service, and customized solutions

  • Collaborate with National Account Executives, Customer Account Management, Carrier Sales, and Customer Sales to further understand account strategies and opportunities for growth potential to develop an execution plan tailored to the customers' needs

  • Partner with the Customer Sales team to understand and/or develop a top-down strategy, creating and managing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each account

  • Manage and monitor both internal and external client key performance indicators (KPIs) for selected accounts to understand trends

  • Assist Customer Sales in identifying, selling, and closing new and organic business growth by maintaining and further developing key relationships, conducting crucial conversations, and resolving impactful problems

  • Develop multi-level customer relationships with each client both organically and with new contacts, proactive communication, and document in appropriate customer relationship management (CRM) and operating systems

  • Contribute to or lead business reviews to be aligned with the client, promote client retention, and position for new opportunities

  • Understand operational best practices, proactively communicate, guide, and train internal team members accountable for execution and service on your designated accounts

  • Monitor and track freight acceptance based on best practices, market conditions, and awards


This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


  • High school diploma or a GED required

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 3+ years' experience in related field

  • 5+ years' experience managing customer relationships and transportation/logistics industry experience preferred


  • Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for account base

  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to identify and execute on new opportunities for GlobalTranz

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to effective address and problem solve service issues in a professional manner

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.


Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
