Objectives of this Role

  • Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company's hiring needs for each position, including the skills and competencies underlying each role, profiles of successful candidates, and the optimal markets to target
  • Manage the full talent acquisition lifecycle across a variety of roles, from junior associates to directors
  • Partner with hiring managers and maintain open lines of communication from crafting the initial job description to post-acceptance onboarding
  • Ensure a sterling candidate experience and serve as an effective ambassador of the brand in the market
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with passive talent in anticipation of future opportunities
  • Maintain an active firm presence on professional networking sites, job boards, and related platforms to source talent
  • Collaborate with the recruiting team and senior managers to design, refine, and implement innovative recruiting strategies

Daily and Weekly Responsibilities

  • Form relationships with internal management teams to learn the ins and outs of their departments and better understand their hiring needs and job specifications
  • Develop and release job postings on a portfolio of platforms (from social media to formal job boards)
  • Utilize knowledge of multiple recruiting sources and execute innovative recruiting strategies to find quality candidates
  • Qualify, interview, and manage candidates throughout the recruiting process from prepping before interviews to assisting with final offer negotiation
  • Serve as a warm and positive point of contact to candidates
  • Consistently and accurately update internal databases to track activity and report out progress
  • Leverage data to observe patterns and report insights internally
  • Obtain post-placement feedback from hiring managers to continuously improve calibration

Competencies of the Successful Candidate

  • Proven track record in talent acquisition, including candidate targeting, screening, and management through the full recruiting life cycle. Most likely this involves at least 4 years in an internal or agency talent acquisition role
  • Ability to navigate sensitive candidate situations gracefully and diplomatically by exercising good judgment, deep listening, and a built-up knowledge of the firm's priorities and mindset
  • Ability to understand and adapt to the needs, constraints, and competing priorities of hiring managers and directors through flexibility, deep listening, and customization in approach
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (e.g., typo-free drafting, precision in messaging, and attention to detail)
  • Efficiency and proficiency with common software tools, including MS Office, applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, and job boards
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Intellectual curiosity and learning orientation to grow professionally
