The Center for Procedural Innovation (CPI) provides
state-of-the-art equipment, instrumentation, and expert staff
services to support the needs of all Mayo educators, innovators and
researchers. The Coordinator is responsible for planning of
laboratory operations within the CPI, developing course budgets and
managing expenses with guidance from the Operations Manager. Acts
as technical advisor, troubleshooter, and coordinator for all of
the equipment, procedures, and functions of the laboratory.
Prioritizes and coordinates events/courses between educational
programs. Programs are commonly held outside of the usual working
hours most commonly on nights and weekends. Participates in
managing gifts/grants and facilitating applications s requesting
equipment and specimens. Disposes of hazardous wastes according to
policy/protocol. In the absence of an on-site Director, the
Coordinator serves as the Director's internal and external
representative and resource contact person for the
Bachelor's Degree in biology, chemistry, or relevant sciences
required. At least three years of experience in the field of
general surgery to include procedures and anesthesia of non-human
Animal and cadaver surgical experience preferred. Ability to
interface with commercial sponsors to develop external educational
training programs to include goals and objectives as well as
schedule and course overview. Demonstrated leadership, problem
solving, organizational and self-directed skills required. Ability
to make independent decisions. Excellent organizational,
communication, and interpersonal skills. Some travel may be
required to update skills and techniques, to meet with outside
sponsors/vendors and/or to make arrangements for CPI programs.
Experience in preparation of program budgets is recommended.
Competent in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with
internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary
every 2 weeks is approx $2,593.60, based on a full-time
Hours / Pay period
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. Flexibility required in order to meet
the needs of the lab or department.
Availability to work weekends as needed.
