Senior IT Specialist needed for our Incident Response Team!_Note: This position is designed as 100% remote, 8:30AM-5PM EST Monday-Friday, but may require afterhours/holiday/weekends to work an active incident. Travel is required based on the incident's need. We try to do them all remotely, but customer may demand onsite._**We need a senior geek who is fanatical about learning, troubleshooting, and making clients happy. We do Incident Response for malware and ransomware incidents, so flexibility to work weekends, nights, holidays, and long hours is an absolute necessity. We usually get a call regarding an incident and then have to fly on-site or tackle it remotely (if the client is willing to give us access to their network remotely) immediately.Required experience: At least 10 years in IT Operations (networking and system administration)Less than 5 years is entry-level. 5-10 years is junior/mid-level. > 10 years is usually experienced enough to be a senior level geek.Absolutely necessary for the position are skills and experience in:

  • Virtualization technologies, preferably VMware vSphere and Hyper-V
  • Veeam backup and recovery software
    • Windows system administration (administering and repairing Active Directory, Group Policy objects, PowerShell, repairing replication issues) - More than just user administration
    • Exchange Server management and Office 365 management and migration experience, as well as foundational knowledge of Azure Active Directory
    • General cloud computing foundational knowledge (preferably Microsoft Azure compute, storage, and networking)
    • Networking and firewall administrative experience (preferably Cisco, Palo Alto, and/or Fortinet) Other "nice-to-haves":
      • Familiarity with other backup products like Commvault, Acronis, and Backup Exec
      • SQL Server familiarity
      • Linux sysadmin experience
      • Networking and firewall experience
      • Information security experience
      • SAN experience
      • SCCM admin experience
      • MDM administrative experience such as AirWatch or Microsoft InTuneWe 100% guarantee that you will have to recover environments and topologies you've never imagined, with software and systems you've never dealt with. Sometimes there are backups, but sometimes there are not and we have to rebuild from scratch. It is a given that the client has no documentation so everything is flying by the seat of your pants.This is a challenging, stressful position. You will learn more doing this job than any other position you've had and it is a great adventure.
        • Please don't be afraid of traveling or using a telephone, as we serve clients all over the country (both on-site and remotely). During COVID-19, we are working remote as much as possible but sometimes have to travel. Take appropriate PPE and social distancing precautions while on the road.
        • Please don't be afraid of tackling end-user support issues as well as higher-level server and networking issues. Sometimes, we have to do password changes as mitigation efforts and you may be on the front lines helping users directly.
        • Please have the energy required to get the job done and follow through. It is a tasking and stressful position. Clients are usually down and losing millions of dollars every day so there is a lot of pressure to get their systems up and running.

              • Repairing client environments, taking forensic images, containing threats, and restoring services both on-site and remotely.
              • Managing our client networks, servers, and endpoints on-site and remotely.
              • Working until the project is completed.
              • Planning and executing client projects, including upgrades, deployments, and migrations.
              • Rotating after-hours emergency on-call responsibilities.
              • Monitoring for issues and improvements, auditing, and documenting frequently.
              • Be available any time (minus vacation) as there is usually no advance warning of an incident. In previous incidents, we have had to work 2 straight weeks of 12 to 18 hour days before having a few days off and going back at it again.Requirements:
                • Most importantly: MUST HAVE impeccable customer service skills and be comfortable on the telephone
                • Must have a caring and friendly personality, as well as go-getter, fanatical energy
                • Must have strong troubleshooting and critical thinking ability
                • Must be honest and ethical in all aspects of your job (from licensing to billing, etc.)
                • Must be responsible and take ownership of both your successes and failures
                • Must have clean criminal background checks
                • Must understand and be able to act on network configuration/management task to include routing, firewalls, subnets, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless networking
                • Must have Windows Server administration experience
                • Must be able to work with endpoint and network security, including general understanding of HIPAA and PCI compliance
                • Must be capable of performing desktop management and end-user support_Remote telecommute required. Travel possible when required for an incident._**Job Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per yearBenefits:
