Job Description SummaryAs an Accounts Payable Supervisor working for Taylor Morrison you will be responsible for supervising activities and operations in the accounts payable function for the organization. You will ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and maintain accurate financial records and control reports. Collaboratively work with all divisions, departments and trade partners to ensure the department appropriately processes payments and responds to internal and external inquires in a timely manner.Job DetailsWe trust that as an Accounts Payable Supervisor you will: (responsibilities)Provide leadership to Accounts Payable team and work closely with Accounts Payable ManagerContribute to the overall operation of the Finance DepartmentResponsible for maintaining an effective and efficient system for processing and distributing paymentsSupervise Accounts Payable Administrators, ensuring that payments are handled accurately, timely and in accordance with company accounts payable policies and procedures manualMaintain professional and cooperative working relationships with all departments and levels of managementMaintain good vendor relationships as a representative of the CompanyAssists in the continuous review of accounts payable policies and procedures and recommend improvements to procedures as necessarySupervise vendor management to ensure setup and W9's are valid and up-to-date in compliance with Legal and IRS requirementsActs as first point of contact to resolve escalated issuesInterviewing, selecting, and training employeesWork schedule arrangementEvaluating employee productivity; handling complaints or disciplining employees alongside Accounts Payable ManagerDefining work techniquesAllocating work among employeesDetermining the types of equipment to be used in performing work, or supplies neededMonitoring work for legal or regulatory complianceProviding for safety and security of the workplaceYou are willing to perform other duties as assignedWhat you will need: (competencies, behaviors & attributes) -Business AcumenCustomer FocusDeveloping Direct Reports and OthersAmbitionPriority SettingOrganizationDelegationFlexibilitySelf-Knowledge and Emotional IntelligenceAbout you: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business related field or equivalent experience and trainingMinimum 3 years of accounts payable or related experience required, some experience in a lead or supervisory role preferredLien waiver and homebuilding process knowledge preferred1099 processing and vendor record setup preferredTechnical knowledge of full cycle accounts payable best practicesExperience with accounting systems and software, Newstar preferredProficient in all Microsoft Office Applications as well as have savvy computer skillsOrganized and proficient documentationFlexible and prioritizes tasks in order to meet deadlinesFLSA Status: ExemptInterviewing, coaching, and training employeesAppraising productivity; handling employee grievances or complaints, or disciplining employeesDetermining work techniquesApportioning work among employeesMonitoring work for legal or regulatory complianceEssential Functions:Successful job applicants will be able to perform these functions.
