Definition: Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Infrastructure and Operations, the IT Audio Visual Specialist I is responsible for the installation, support and troubleshooting of audio visual systems for the SRPMIC. This job class is treated as FLSA Non-Exempt. Examples of Tasks
Essential Functions: Essential functions may vary among positions and may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics. 1. Mentoring: Mentors staff members so they attain the audio-visual technical skills and customer services skills required to operate and support A/V systems.
2. A/V Support: Provides end user and technical support for all A/V-related systems and hardware.

  • Provides technical support to ensure A/V systems are functioning properly.
  • Provides assistance and instruction to end users on proper use of A/V systems.
  • Supports special events with the setup, testing, operation and instruction on use of A/V systems and equipment.
  • Performs troubleshooting to determine root cause of system issues and performs repairs to correct issues.
  • Works with vendors to schedule maintenance and repairs.

    3. A/V Installation and Maintenance: Performs installation of A/V systems and routine preventative maintenance of systems.

    • Performs the installation, setup and maintenance of A/V equipment, including, but not limited to; TVs/displays, projectors, amplifiers, digital signal processors, control processors, video switchers, wireless microphones and receivers, digital signage, IPTV, Crestron DigitalMedia, Crestron control panels and Room Wizards.
    • Applies commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for A/V procurement, installation, upgrade and support.
    • Performs routine preventative maintenance on A/V systems in conference rooms, Council Chambers, Community buildings, Memorial Halls, Fitness Centers and Court rooms and other locations as required.
    • Supervises vendors on small to medium installation projects. Assists with testing, training and validation of systems.

      4. Training: Provides training and basic instruction on all A/V-related systems and equipment to IT staff and end users.
      5. Miscellaneous: Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Infrastructure and Operations and the IT Director.
      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

      • Knowledge of the history, culture, laws, customs and traditions of the SRPMIC
      • Knowledge of A/V hardware, software, communications, networking equipment and functions
      • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair procedures
      • Knowledge and understanding of A/V principles, practices and procedures
      • Knowledge of A/V equipment and concepts
      • Knowledge of COM-2000 and IPTV
      • Knowledge of Crestron equipment
      • Knowledge of Biamp equipment

        • Skill interfacing at all staff levels and providing effective verbal and written communication
        • Skill managing small to medium projects
        • Skill to effectively analyze and solve problems

          • Ability to diagnose and respond to issues in an accurate, timely and thorough manner
          • Ability to effectively gather requirements and propose solutions to meet the requirements
          • Ability to analyze and interpret data
          • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
          • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
          • Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment and the ability to learn new technology
          • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
          • Ability to work independently as well as with a team
          • Ability to lift & carry 50 lbs.
            Minimum Qualifications
            Education & Experience:

            • CTS-I certification preferred
            • Crestron Certified Programmer certification preferred

              • A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a closely related field is preferred.
              • 2 years demonstrated successful professional experience in A/V installation.
                • 2 years demonstrated successful professional experience in A/V maintenance, repair and troubleshooting.

                  Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered.
                  Underfill Eligibility: An enrolled Community Member who closely qualifies for the minimum qualifications for a position may be considered for employment under SRPMIC Policy 2-19, Underfill Special Requirements

                  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Drivers License
                  • May be required to work outside normal work hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

In addition, all employees providing services to a campus with children will be subject to the "Community Code of Ordinances", Chapter 11, "Minors", Article X.
