        Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Student Services Specialist Senior-International Admissions. This position serves as the primary contact for prospective international students from the point of the first contact to enrollment, as well as, coordinates admissions processing for international students, especially students with F-1 visa status. The Student Services Specialist Senior serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the college, ensuring all students on visas remain compliant with state, federal and Department of Homeland Security regulations and ensuring all records are updated in Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) . This position coordinates the international student orientation and assists academic advisors and faculty with ensuring international students meet the academic requirements of their visa. This position also coordinates the international student insurance, assists with on-campus employment, and works with college staff to provide resources to the international student to ensure a well-rounded experience with effective cultural adjustment and academic success.

        To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs.

        Essential Functions

        50% - Manages the admissions of and compliance to regulations for international students

        10% - Works with other college staff to ensure a well-rounded experience for international students and works with other college staff and faculty to resolve international student issues and concerns.

        10% - Compiles, submits and responds to reports for college, district and federal requests; assists with general Admissions & Registration during peak times.

        20% - Evaluates transcripts for all students, including international transcript evaluation

        5% - Creates and coordinates presentations for international students, including international student orientation and employee training.

        5% - Serves on district and college committees, task forces and work teams; and other duties as assigned.

        Minimum Qualifications

        Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

        OR

        High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

        Desired Qualifications

        A. Bachelor's degree or higher in Higher Education, Business or related field.

        B. Experience working with international students in a higher education setting.

        C. Experience working in Admissions & Records/Enrollment services in a college/university setting.

        D. Experience working with The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and ensuring compliance in Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) as a Designated School Official (DSO) or a Principal Designated School Official (PDSO).

        E. Experience creating and presenting to international student populations.

        F. Clear and concise communication skills as demonstrated in the cover letter.

        Special Working Conditions
        • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
        • Will be required to travel to other MCCCD locations.
        • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
        • May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
        • May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
