Job Summary
Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is looking for a full-time
Technology Support Specialist. This position will perform
troubleshooting of networks, desktops, media, and communication
equipment as it relates to network connectivity.
To best serve the students, department, and college, this position
requires a physical presence on campus.
Essential Functions
30% - Performs advanced troubleshooting and repair of media,
networking, systems, and other devices
30% - Performs cabling and wiring of systems and components
15% - Takes ownership of deploying wireless infrastructure and
monitoring of it, creating wireless heatmaps using special hardware
and software
15% - Works under guidelines of Sysaid Helpdesk ticketing system to
assist users with critical requests, incidents and problems
5% - Performs testing, maintains system inventory, creates
documentation and updates procedures
5% - Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience with
desktop user support or technical support for equipment, networks,
systems, telecommunications, or technology security, appropriate to
assignment.
There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High
School Diploma or GED.
Desired Qualifications
A. Work experience troubleshooting and repairing networks
B. Work experience troubleshooting and repairing media related
equipment and systems
C. Work experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing
wireless networks
D. Work experience with network and media cabling
E. Certificates such as CompTIA Network+. CompTIA A+. and/or
Certified Network Cable Installer
