team! **Status**Full Time/Non-Exempt **Position Summary**This is a
front-line, first impression position requiring a person who is
customer-service oriented with a professional and positive
attitude; while promoting a positive work environment. The Customer
Care Operator's primary responsibility will be to accept and route
incoming phone calls on various phone lines. The Customer Care
Operator will work in a corroborative, team environment by
establishing strong working relationships with internal SMIL
departments as well as external customers. The Customer Care
Operator must display strong detail oriented skills with the proven
ability to multitask; handling multiple phone lines and caller
requests at a time. The Customer Care Operator position and job
function is a value-added service offering to SMIL's internal and
external customers and will require a commitment to "World Class
Customer Service". This individual is one who will consistently
demonstrate exemplary performance in-line with SMIL's Performance
Standards in the areas of: Attendance, Quality, Productivity,
Customer Service, Teamwork, Job Knowledge, Communication, Problem
Solving, Initiative & Energy as well as adherence to Workplace
Guidelines. **Detailed Responsibilities*** Accept and transfer
incoming calls via soft-console. * Provides internal phone operator
assistance to Radiologists, Officers, Business Office Staff, and
Imaging Center Staff (Option 0 internally). * Performs general
administrative duties: messaging, filing, sorting and faxing. *
Handles special administrative projects and overflow work from
internal SMIL departments and executives. * Review Daily Worklist
in Fuji RIS for BE Prep to be sent via email. * Utilizes the SDI,
SMIL, VRL Physician & Practice Location Roster. * Utilizes the SDI,
SMIL, VRL On-line Phone Directory. * Utilizes the SMIL Radiologist
Reading Schedule. * Utilizes the SDI Employee Directory. *
Separates Mammogram Letters. * Respond to requests for copies of
Radiology Reports in Fuji RIS from Referring Offices and Patients.
* Adheres to all HIPAA Guidelines. * Stay informed with company
newsletters, updates and/or changes to SMIL/SDI employee rosters
and job functions. * Inform Department Director and Manager of
potential escalated phone calls and problem cases to receive
direction on how to resolve situations. * Participate in Team
meetings. * Performs other related ad-hoc duties as assigned or
requested. **Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability*** Working
knowledge of Switchboard Operator process & procedures with the
ability to perform soft-console phone operator functions. *
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact
tactfully and diplomatically with patients, families, referring
physicians and staff, and internal customers. * Demonstrates
commitment to "World Class Service". * Highly organized and
detailed and deadline-oriented with the ability to handle multiple
tasks with short time-lines by prioritizing and organizing work in
a timely and accurate manner. * Demonstrates a pleasant
disposition, positive attitude, and possess the ability to maintain
a cordial and professional approach during periods of stress. *
Demonstrates the ability to interact and communicate effectively
(internally and externally) using both verbal and written methods.
* Anticipates and adapts to change (e.g. policy changes,
operational procedures, protocol changes) in a positive manner. *
Proficient Medical Terminology. * Proficient knowledge of Radiology
Exams. * Proficient knowledge of Fuji RIS. * Proficient knowledge
and operation of Email, Instant Messaging, Internet & Intranet. *
Skill in using office equipment: Computer, Soft-Console,
Photocopier, Telephone, Fax Machine, Scanner, and Calculator.
**Education and Experience*** High School Diploma or Equivalent. *
The ability to accurately type 35 to 40 WPM. * 2-3 Years'
experience in Switchboard Operation and/or Customer Service
preferred. * Radiology/Medical industry related Certification is a
plus, but not required. **Physical Requirements**While performing
the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use
hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and
talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color
