The Accounting Intern with New Freedom will provide valuable firsthand experience in the accounting field and offer opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Your Impact Will Include: Assist with financial data entry and recordkeeping by accurately entering transactions into accounting systems and spreadsheets and maintaining organized financial records. Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including processing invoices, verifying payments, reconciling statements, and communicating with vendors or clients as needed. Contribute to the preparation of financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements) by gathering data, performing basic calculations, and ensuring completeness and accuracy. Assist with financial analysis by analyzing data, identifying trends or anomalies, and preparing reports or summaries to support decisionâ??making. Participate in internal and external audit processes by gathering documentation, performing reconciliations, and responding to auditor inquiries. Conduct research on accounting regulations, GAAP standards, industry trends, and other financial topics to support compliance and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with the accounting team by supporting daily tasks and projects, participating in meetings, job shadowing operations departments, and gaining insight into the organization’s mission and business operations. Actively develop accounting knowledge and professional skills through training, mentorship, and workshops, and present key learnings, value added, and feedback to organizational leadership at the conclusion of the experience. Performing additional duties as assigned to support our mission. Where You’ll Work Primarily works in a professional office and virtual collaboration environment within a behavioral healthcare setting Regularly uses a computer, standard office equipment, and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Outlook) to complete assignments and support Accounting operations Performs work during standard business hours, with scheduling flexibility based on project needs and academic requirements Some days will require long periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
